Like a lot of realist painters who derive their inspiration from the immediate environment they inhabit, I am motivated by the wonder of my exploration of the ironic, and in elevating the seemingly common and even ordinary subject matter that presents possibility for a heightened enlightenment.

Indeed, most of my time is spent looking closely, observing quietly, until I can discover a detached viewpoint and a different perspective.

After having worked in Hollywood for years, collaborating with many artists, actors, musicians and others, I really enjoy the solitude of the studio. Knowing that opportunity to create one’s own magic has rewards beyond purchase, it can be a sacred and supremely humbling endeavor.

That said, it’s all in the doing, composition, color, the labor, and the struggle is real.
