Douglas Blagg is the youngest painter of the well-known Fort Worth artist siblings, the Blagg Brothers.

Douglas was tutored from a very early age of 2D fine art. He has special expertise in drawing, watercolor, and oil painting.

 

Primarily a watercolorist, Blagg has spent many years rendering Los Angeles noir, landscapes, architecture, and figures. His work is featured in many significant private collections, as well as several museums.

 

In 1980 with brothers Daniel, Dennis and Woodrow, Doug joined them in co-founding Artspace111, exhibiting Contemporary Texas Art throughout the next four decades.

 

In 1982 with artist Nancy Lamb, the two opened Huzzo-Blamb Gallery in Fort Worth, showcasing emerging and noted Contemporary Texas artist.

 

1984, Blagg relocated to Los Angeles, establishing a dual career in the film world as well as exhibiting widely in several galleries, including Robert Berman in Santa Monica. It is in Los Angeles that Douglass curates and co-founds Modern Objects Gallery featuring Los Angeles rising artists as well becomes a founding artist at Westmoreland Lofts Inner City Art Group. After curating multiple other exhibitions Douglas received a Citation of Achievement from the mayor of Los Angeles and City Council.

 

After multiple exhibitions throughout Texas and California, the Blagg Brothers exhibit work at the Old Jail Art Museum in Albany Texas in 2004.

 

Retiring from the film industry after 35 years, Douglass returned home to Texas, and begins a career as a full-time painter.
