WILLIAM K. GREINER is a New Orleans native, now based in Fort Worth, TX. Greiner is an artist working in photography, paint/collage, film and written word. He received a BFA from Tufts University/School of the Museum of Fine Art Boston in 1982. William Greiner has exhibited work at venues which range from the Louisiana Arts & Science Museum in Baton Rouge to the Center of Photography in Bombay, India. Greiners’ work can be found in over sixty permanent museum collections, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the National Museum of American Art in Washington, D.C, the J. Paul Getty Museum and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art in California. Publications include A NEW LIFE: Stories and Photographs from the Suburban South, work about living in the South, was published in the W.W. Norton. Louisiana State University Press published a monograph of his work, The Reposed in October 1999. Most recently publications include Visualizing the Blues, Blues Foundation/Dixon Gallery 2001 and The Story of the South: 1890-2003, Ogden Museum of Southern Art/Scala Publishers, (September 2003), and Baton Rouge Blues, University of Alabama - Birmingham (2006). FALLEN PARADISE (New Orleans 1995-2005), was published as a limited edition artist book in 2008. Greiner's most recent work, Land's End, was exhibited at the New Orleans Museum of Art, April 10 – July 11, 2010 accompanied by a self-published limited edition book of the same title in 2010. The Morris Museum in Augusta, GA will exhibit his most recent body of work in August, 2014.
