Anne C. Weary I feel drawing is a beautiful art medium, equal to oil painting. I do finished drawings and express my love of nature and animals mainly through drawing. I am a landscape artist. My studio is the outdoors. I set up my drawing table in the woods or pasture near where I live and draw daily. I can spend up to two months on a single drawing. Where I draw is the home and world of the animals. I find my place in the woods or pastures where I decide to work. I take in the light on the leaves, branches, and trunks. Each tree is unique. I love all the different techniques and kinds of charcoal, pencils and conté. At the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, I received intensive training in drawing. While I was studying there, I went up to Yale University to see a drawing show. I fell in love with the drawings I saw there. At that moment I decided to express myself, and my love of trees and animals, through the medium of drawing.
