I consider myself a lifetime artist, but it wasn't until 2010 that I began painting more full time. Exposure to my grandfather's photographs of his trip around the world in 1923 had a great influence on the direction my paintings took. I found a special connection with these photos, especially the people in them. Largely a self taught artist, I have a passion for creating and discovering the stories behind the people in each painting. I am intrigued by their expressions and strive to make a connection between the viewer and the painting. I paint mainly in oils and pastels, but also enjoy working in egg tempera and charcoal. I divide my time between Fort Worth, Texas ( with husband Jim, four grown children, and four grandchildren), and Santa Fe, New Mexico. I have been in numerous shows and my paintings can be seen in private collections throughout the United States. I am proud to represented by Acosta Strong Gallery on Canyon Road in Santa Fe.
