I officially became an alien at six: my mother and I flew into JFK International Airport from Colombia. At school, I gravitated toward friends that were also aliens. This attraction to people from foreign lands has never left me. As a photographer, I am intrigued about how we soak in a new experience, pausing in the present. These travel photographs are an invitation to peer into an unfamiliar land and feel the wonder of our differences.
