Painting is a kind of meditation for me. Ideas, feelings, beliefs, concepts percolate through my brain and out of my paintbrush. I am always looking for ways that things are connected as well as seeking opportunities to form bridges between elements that only appear to not belong to each other. Sometimes I'm surprised and that is certainly true of one of my submitted paintings, The Angel of Death. I can honestly say that it came out 180 degrees from what it started to be.
