Raft for Sisyphus utilizes the raft device as a symbol of hope and a reminder of the despair that drives many to make perilous journeys from their homelands to the United States, an amazing land of opportunity. I pull four of my six children aboard a tire covered raft. Moving across the barren landscape is a desperate attempt to remove them from a hopeless situation to one that may be more favorable.
