These six woodcuts highlight the history of my family. They start with my grandfather coming to this country from Mexico City and end with the birth of my daughters while exploring the generations in between using imagery and composition to tell the story. The images in the work are stacked to symbolize the idea that each generation works hard to elevate their children and grandchildren. So that we can obtain things that were out of reach for previous generations. My ceiling is my daughters floor; and because we will always have children to create a better future for, the endeavor is endless.
