Join us for an Artist talk with Carroll Swenson-Roberts on Thursday, January 20, 2022, from 6-7 pm with a Social Hour before from 5-6 pm!
Artspace111 presents an Artist Talk with Carroll Swenson-Roberts about her current exhibition, Wish You Were Here, currently at Artspace111 through January 29, 2022.
Please join us as we sit down with Carroll and discuss the themes of her work. The exhibition features mixed media drawing and painting narrative works on paper and panel. Carroll Swenson-Roberts tells stories with color, pattern, space and shape. Her works are filled with symbolism, pulling inspiration from her own experiences with family, marriage, motherhood, travel, home, friends, pets, meals, music, gardening, and walks. This new body of work was largely created during her annual summer stay in her home in California, and this work is an invitation to us to join her as she tells us a tale.
“Memories are not a passive recording of everyday events. We construct our own memories to help us understand our lives. We continually use these constructed memories to tell our own story to ourselves and to others. Memories are a way of reconstructing ordinary moments and making them into a personal narrative. My art continues this transformation into the visual world.” – Carroll Swenson-Roberts
Join us Thursday, January 20, 2022 from 6-7pm for the talk and 5-6 for a Social Hour with beverages!🥂
