“My work is traditional in that I create photographs printed on fine art paper. However my worldview has always been one of finding beauty in the small, transient, abandoned, and unseen. So while it is literal in a photographic sense, it also tends to be somewhat abstract at times. I glory in finding individual specimens among the masses and exploring their minute attributes, often choosing black and white to highlight structure and pattern. I explore the beauty in aging, renewal, and the momentary. Target Practice is a macro view of the power and impact of bullets on targets coated with multiple layers of paint. The beautiful abstract nature of a literal impact, and the conversations that surround the images, intrigue me. To me, photography is about taking a moment. It is about stopping the world and for a brief time. North Texas is where I was raised. It is where I find peace and comfort and room to breathe. And it is where I make my most beloved images.”
