Somewhere within and without, attempts to subtly shift and deconstruct the ways in which we engage with space, time and perception after seminal life events. Everyday household objects are used to construct quiet still lives as a means to mark particular discordant, uncertain and poignant transitions. These simple quotidian things found in each image are meant to ground us in the familiar, but also create a point of departure from it. Purposefully plucked and placed, they ask us to examine the conventional ways in which we think, to look at the mystery that lies inside those spaces of being. Drawing from personal historical experience, they prompt and unpack questions, and serve as metaphoric distillations of connection, memory, loss and love.
