Tracey Meyer is both a 2D and 3D artist, who is fascinated by the world and the often unnoticed or mundane things in it. She is enthralled by shapes and patterns and finds them everywhere she looks. Meyer, drawn to geometric forms and repetition often recreate them in her work. These shards were rescued from ongoing attempts to make a different project. The shards were so delightfully delicate, that she decided to make them into works on their own. These works look at line and form, embracing the striking shadows that are created. Shadow is often a part of Meyer's work, a wonderful exemplar of 'things being more than they might seem'. The very point of these pieces is their fragility and brittleness - entitled, "Shards", there is wonder about their existence and the expectation that they may be damaged just like us all.
