While talking with Alexa, I often get suddenly scared because she seems to know so much about me. Even when using Google, it might know about me everything, where I was, am or will be, and what I like or not, even better than myself. This is the moment when optimized convenience turns to frightening. My Dear Customer series starts with the question, what challenges do humans and art face in this age of big data and Artificial Intelligence (AI)? If 'explaining' AI is the task of science and engineering, for example, the task of art is basically to 'understand' and 'interpret' the meaning of AI, more precisely, the meaning of the essence of science and culture that caused the advent of AI and new problems that AI may cause. The idea of logo tapes like Amazon, Google, and Facebook which I created comes from Amazon's packing tape, and they symbolize AI in my works.
