Alex Revier grew up in south Irving, Texas. Revier loves glueing things together and hanging out in storm drains. Revier finds it fascinating when the concrete city infrastructure collides with nature. Revier loves exploring new ways of creating art, so you will see a spectrum ranging from performance, video and installation, to painting and collage. Revier probably thinks in a three-dimensional way. Revier views collage as another form of sculpture when the layers really start to build up like a topographical map. Each cut out thing is its own object before its glued to a paper or board. Revier approaches found object sculpture in this way as well. Revier wants to explore the similarities and differences with collage and sculpture. Revier has never learned when to stop working a piece, but has learned that it is essential in his creative process. Maximalism makes the artist think about his relationship to time quite a bit.
