I use equine behavior and life with horses to visually explain feelings, concepts, or ideas that normally have nothing to do with horses. In this case, I've decided to use the horse to explain how two months of quarantine impacted my day-to-day life during the pandemic. Much like people, horses also react negatively to being kept cooped up for long periods of time. While as a horsewoman myself, I saw that behavior as silly. If only I could tell the horse why being kept inside a stall due to injury, poor weather conditions, and other uncontrollable circumstances was good for them and they'll be just fine. Though now I understand going through the human version of stall rest myself. Thus, to help process and hopefully eliminated negative thoughts and actions, I've turned to the horse to visually show my emotions. My materials consist of what I have on hand, as supplies are limited. Each piece is dictated by how I am feeling as I create it, and I only create it when I'm in that feeling.
