Teetering between drawing, sculpture, and installation, the tactility and tangible nature, or the "object-ness" of my work, calls attention to the materials and how real these objects seem when we lack a physical presence for those lost to us. In my work, I explore this fascination with the "object-ness" of things, and navigate the ideas behind material culture through the subtleties and details of the quotidian. My practice is rooted in memory, and the feelings and imagination that come with remembrance. Centered in themes of the familiar, family, and loss, it calls upon the imagery and associations that lie within past experiences of family, childhood, and their relation to objects of the home; especially when the nature of those relationships change due to disappearances or personal growth.
