When I began using the Gallup StrengthsFinder personality testing, it became clear that we all have our own unique set of strengths. This series of “The Shadow Side of Strengths” became a true exploration of self. With every strength there is a weakness. In the series of 34 “shadows” brings to light the individual weaknesses we all have. With light comes shadows, and with positivity comes negativity. The piece I am entering is called "Adaptability II" which was originally part of this series, but unfinished as it was the only canvas painting that had been started in the series of works on paper. It didn't belong at the time, but with the pandemic onset, life has changed. In my eyes, change is good as my number one strength is Adaptability. I can adjust to anything easily. My second strength is Positivity, therefore deflecting any negativity. "Adaptability II" are the two strengths and, regardless of what is thrown at me I must find a way to find peace, be flexible and adapt.
