My photography is about how I relate to and remember compelling people, street scenes and nature. In my portraits, my personal insecurities and disconcertment are usually in proportion to my subject's relaxed expressions. I use simple posing and framing to amplify my subject's humanity at turning points in their lives.
My recent projects include:
A portrait series of my son's high school classmates, whose school year was ended abruptly during the pandemic;
An ongoing remembrance of an institution that was a haven for Fort Worth black high school students, via the portraits of the I. M. Terrell High School alumni members; and
Individual portraits of people in the middle of changing direction, like Emily, an artist excited by a new job and path toward more independence.
