In this unprecedented period of our lives, I find myself yearning to fill the void. Participating in this exhibit allows me to connect physically to others with my artwork and speak soulfully to the viewers with every brushstroke. Every day in isolation bubbles up every emotion. My Oil and Cold Wax paintings are my emotional outlet. With each week that passes, I see myself choosing new colors, using more lines and textures, and scraping and/or gouging the surfaces to draw the viewer to come closer to explore every subtlety. Hidden layers of text, colors, and Intuitive mark making add to the nuances and convey personal histories. Some paintings may have twenty or more of these layers. My hope is that the viewer feels a personal connection with my paintings so none of us feel too far apart.
