As a teenager wandering through a craft fair I came upon a potter demonstrating on a wheel, immediately I was lured in, captivated by the artist’s mastery of the clay. Fascinated with how quickly a lump of clay became a vessel, I thought, “This is Magic!”
40 years later I am still discovering the magic, with sculpture that is mindful. Many of my pieces are metaphoric and created to draw the viewer emotionally into the story of animals in peril. I have created and exhibited work about endangered species for several years. My goal is to bring awareness to the plight of the plants and animals with whom we share this planet. So many species today are perilously close to extinction. It is my hope that by focusing on this issue I can bring awareness and elicit a response of concern and action to help save these species and by so doing save ourselves!
10% of all endangered sales will be donated to the World Wildlife Fund.
