The imagery in “Aftermath” comes from a concept of repurposing items that have been discarded. This idea was conceived when I began collecting old metal and broken glass from recycle yards around North Texas. Along with the broken windshield, found at Gold’s Metal Recyclers, I used oil paint, encaustic wax and shellac to express the idea that out of destruction can come renewal.
