Art is my breath. I must keep creating in order to survive.
My practice balances exploration and interaction. I am constantly exploring new media and processes. In the areas I am more experienced, I focus on the viewer’s interaction with my artwork. Using various structures and systems I create work where nothing remains stagnant.
The art I’m submitting for this exhibition pulls from a few bodies of work. In each I am exploring a new process of printmaking (from lithography to intaglio). The video piece is a new process of working. I am creating the system for the art to take place by pairing maps of places I have visited with phrases I learned while in each city; I associate these phrases with their city, and they have stuck with me over time.
